Georgia Autism Professionals wants you to help us fill the gap! We are holding our Annual Tracy Smith Memorial Fun Run & Walk to help families provide camp, respite, and therapy services to their children with autism. This year’s event will include a 5K run and 1 mile walk.
According to most recent estimates by the CDC, 1 in 59 children have been identified with and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Individuals with ASD and their families benefit from specified services that are rarely covered by insurance or other government agencies. GAP’s focus is to raise money and awareness through our annual Tracy Smith memorial Fun Run and Walk. Monies raised from these events will directly scholarship children, adolescents, and adults with ASD to participate in these pivotal activities.
This year will mark GAP’s 13th year honoring Tracy Smith through our annual fun run & walk. Before her passing in 2003, Tracy was dedicated to assisting other families affected by autism and helped start the SPECTRUM Autism Support Group. SPECTRUM continues to be a parent run group and currently serves over 1000 families in the metro area. Please consider coming together with other families and professionals in the autism community by participating in this year’s event.
